HealthyToys.org is a Michigan nonprofit that tests toys for toxins beyond the legal limits. Their 2008 results just came out, having tested 1500 toys for lead, mercury, phalates, and other worrisome chemicals. You can read an overview here and you can browse or search the toys here. You can even search with your cell phone when you’re out, just text to 41411 “healthytoys [name of toy]” — for example “healthytoys Plan Toys” or “healthytoys Wii”.
